Charlotte Philatelic Society

The 90 cent issue of 1869.
The Charlotte Philatelic Society was chartered in 1965
to enhance and stimulate the hobby of stamp collecting for the
Charlotte area. The club is affiliated with the American
Philatelic Society. The club sponsors each year in late
July a dealer bourse and exhibition called Charpex which started
the same year the club was chartered. Early
presidents were Herman Bauman, Justine Schrapper, Ferenc Sajgo and
Charles Yates. The club has 40 members, as of November 2003. All stamp collectors
are welcome to attend the meetings.
Each year the club sponsors an Exhibition,
CHARPEX.
The Monthly Meetings
Meeting take place monthly on the first Sunday (usually)
of each month from 1:30 pm until about 4 pm. The location is
the Metrolina Association of the Blind, 704 Louise Avenue.
