Mecklenburg Mathematics Club

The Mecklenburg Math Club was founded in 1990 by Dr. Harold Reiter. It was begun to provide enrichment and challenges for students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades who have a strong interest and ability in mathematics. The club meets once a month during the months spanning September to May. At club meetings students participate in the Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle Schools. For the 2008-2009 school year the club has received support from Ms. Dale Halton, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the UNC Charlotte Department of Mathematics. We are grateful for their support. It may be of interest to know that the Charlotte Teachers’ Circle will be meeting at Providence Day School on the same days that the math clubs meet. Interested teachers should get details at Charlotte Teachers Circle
